Prolog Software Selected By The Commonwealth of Massachusetts To Manage 5,000 Building Projects
Division of Capital Asset Management signs agreement to centralize project data
Folsom, Calif. (November 13, 2003) -- Meridian Project Systems® (Meridian), a leading provider of project management software and ASP solutions, announces that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) has signed an agreement for a statewide implementation of Prolog® Manager and Prolog Website. DCAM, the state agency responsible for public building construction and real estate services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, oversees a spending budget of several hundred million dollars.
Prolog Manager provides complete project control by automating all aspects of the construction life cycle, from project design to close out. Prolog WebSite complements Prolog Manager as a web-based collaboration application designed for the extended project team, ensuring all participants, including the project owner, architect, construction manager, general contractor, subcontractor and suppliers, are all well coordinated throughout the construction process.
One of DCAM's key objectives in selecting software was to find a single solution to track project status from an owner’s point of view, as well as coordinate tasks when DCAM directly manages and executes statewide projects. With Prolog, DCAM found a solution that fits both perspectives and that centralizes, integrates, and enhances all its project information. Prolog also provides DCAM with a customizable solution that will increase output while minimizing repeated data entry.
Prolog will help DCAM manage daily tasks on projects and coordinate communication with contracted construction managers, while allowing DCAM overall program and portfolio management of their hundreds of capital outlay projects for the construction and administration of the roughly 5,000 state-owned buildings across the Commonwealth.
Influenced by Prolog's reputation, and strong ability to manage financial details and construction processes among a multitude of projects, DCAM committed to a $700,000, multi-year agreement for Prolog Manager and Prolog Website. Pivotal in DCAM 's selection were the knowledge and skill of the Meridian Professional Services Group, who will complete DCAM's customization and implementation of Prolog.
DCAM was engaged by Meridian channel partner PSS Consulting Group, a Massachusetts-based company that specializes in the sale, implementation, and customization of project management software for the construction industry. PSS Group has implemented Prolog on other Massachusetts and New England projects, including the Massachusetts Convention Center, the Boston Central Artery Tunnel project, the Boston Convention Center, and the Logan Airport Terminal A project.
