Skanska USA Selects Meridian Project Systems as Project Management Software Standard
Prolog® and Proliance® selected for multi-year technology contract
FOLSOM, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2003) -- Meridian Project Systems® (Meridian), a leading provider of project management software and ASP solutions, announced today that Skanska USA Building Inc., the third largest contractor in the U.S., has selected Meridian as its new project management software standard.
This multi-million dollar agreement includes self-hosted Prolog® software licenses and professional services, for use by 2,000 Skanska USA Building employees and external partners. Prolog Manager provides complete project control by automating all aspects of the construction lifecycle, from project design to close out. Used by global and national enterprises and large regional-based organizations, Prolog Manager ranks as the market share leader in project management software used by general contractors over $250 million in revenue1.This agreement also includes future implementations of Proliance®, the first enterprise Business Process Management (BPM) solution for large enterprises who design, procure, construct, and maintain large capital construction programs. Targeted to large owners and construction companies, Proliance is Meridian’ 3rd generation technology platform that allows global companies to manage projects, programs and business processes across their organizations.Meridian was selected as the result of a Skanska USA Building's executive team initiative to standardize on a single project management system across the entire company. Skanska USA needed one system to manage its multiple projects for strategic clients, and to present project information in a standard, uniform format.Skanska USA Building Inc. selected Proliance for future implementations because it utilizes a Web services platform built on the Microsoft .NET application framework, a powerful foundation that includes workflow automation, security, file management and reporting, and communication tools. Proliance’s built-in workflow automates business processes for every function within an organization allowing Skanska to reduce the time and effort to process information, and enforce best practices company wide. Based on Skanska USA's criteria, Meridian solutions provided enterprise scalability for internally managing risk on all projects across the U.S., and met its needs as a collaboration technology with clients, designers, and subcontractors. "Meridian provided the best project management option for Skanska USA Building Inc., and provides us with a real competitive advantage as we work with increasingly sophisticated clients" said Chris Stockley, chief information officer of Skanska USA Building Inc." Our selection of both Prolog and Proliance provides us with a solid project management IT platform for the next 5 years," added Stockley. "We are excited that Skanska USA chose Meridian solutions as a key strategic component to gain market and service advantage," said Jim Olsen, Meridian chief executive officer. "Skanska will benefit immediately from the additional value-added service provided to its clients," added Olsen.
