Prolog Software Selected by Western Sydney Area Health Service to Control and Manage Projects
Australian Healthcare Provider Standardizes on Meridian Solutions
Folsom, Calif. (April 30, 2003) -- Meridian Project Systems (Meridian), a leading provider of project management software and ASP solutions, announced today that Western Sydney Area Health Service (WSAHS) has selected Prolog Manager and Prolog WebSite for its WIN Program Stage 1, a (AUS) $178.5 million hospital redevelopment project in Australia. Prolog Application Suite has become the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry standard for project management.
WSAHS is performing a major capital works and health services realignment program to improve health services to the expanding population in the Western region of Sydney, Australia. To achieve on time and under budget performance on its projects, WSAHS identified the need to invest in a comprehensive project management software tool. WSAHS, in association with Atkinson Capital Insight (ACI), a project management company specializing in healthcare, selected Prolog for its capabilities in controlling, managing and reporting on its projects.
“We selected Prolog Manager for its Project Cost Management capability,” said Col Erickson, director of facilities development unit at WSAHS. “Prolog allows WSAHS to monitor costs more effectively so we can meet budget management standards required for all of the projects. With Prolog, WSAHS can also provide regular reporting to a number of different stakeholders within the WIN Program,” added Erickson.
The strict time and budget requirements for WIN-based projects requires a high degree of collaboration across a broad range of participants including medical practitioners, architects, engineers and consultants. For WSAHS to communicate effectively and efficiently at such a high level, Web-based Collaboration functionality was considered an essential part of the solution. “Prolog WebSite meets this requirement by allowing our teams to communicate in a timely manner using real-time information,” stated Gary Tower, ACI Program Director for WSAHS’s WIN Program.
WSAHS and ACI were supported in their implementation of the Meridian suite of products through its Australian channel partner, EKM Systems in Sydney, Australia. The EKM Systems team, headed by Doug Sanger provided business & technical consulting, training and local product support, to WSAHS throughout their Prolog implementation.
